We have a steady (though small) supply of siberian cats we rescue throughout the year, luckily we also have a steady supply of people wanting to adopt siberian cats. Because of this, we normally do not post the pictures of available cats online as we are able to find them homes when they are ready to go their new families.
Please don't let this discourage you from applying to adopt or foster a siberian cat. We will ALWAYS need more people that would like to welcome a siberian cat into their home.
Please fill out the adoption and/or foster applications and we will keep your name on file when we have a cat in your area available.
SCRG was founded in honor of our first rescue cat:
IVAN
Rescued in Colorado June 2002
Ivan was found in a shelter in Colorado turned in by his previous owners with all their other pets as they were unable to care for them. Ivan has found a wonderful home and still lives in Colorado with two other Siberian kitties. His owner tells us he rules the roost. Quite scared when he was rescued he has now turned into a wonderful head butting lap kitty. Rescue kitties like Ivan have no idea why they are in a shelter. They have no idea where their families went. They may become withdrawn, even depressed and very confused depending on the amount of time they are in the shelter. Ivans new family gave him time, space and a lot of attention to turn him into the loving household pet he is today. It could takes weeks or in Ivans case months to gain the kitties trust. But in the end it is worth every minute of it.
